Phillips Cycle Co Ltd was one of the cycle manufacturers that made bicycles to the government military pattern MkV specification.
The MkV* designation means that the bicycle had conventional roller lever brakes, whereas the MkV had a roller lever front and coaster (back-pedal) rear brake. It’s original, unrestored. The headbadge and rear mudguard badge are intact, and it has military letters on the rear mudguard too (presumably to designate where it was used/stored). It has heavy duty military pedals. It does not have the Mk V* stamped on it, though it is that pattern and obviously military.
New tyres have recently been fitted, the machine is in good all-round condition and is ready for riding or display.
