Thank you for your letter and the photos, also the stamps, always appreciated. I have the following details…
H27819 is listed as an Experto Crede built with pressed lugs. It was built as their Tour de France model probably by Stan Broom who now lives in Dagenham, I believe.
The price was £10 18s 3d sold on the 12th April, 1960. I do not know the original owner.

1960 Curly Hetchins Experto Crede
27 x 1 1/4″ Wheels
33″ Standover Height
20.5″ Top tube length
Frame No H27819
I came across this Curly Hetchins in 2010 when I bought some other bikes from its owner Jim. He told me he’d sell it to me (and also his Paris Galibier) when he was ready to emigrate to Australia. We chatted over the past seven years, and last week he informed me that the time had come. The Hetchins is an older restoration, cherished by Jim and ridden with care, so it’s still in very good condition. I now own a 1935 Hetchins, so I’m passing this machine on to a new owner. It’s ready to ride.
