GO GAY WITH TRIUMPH
BSA’s slogan during the late fifties was HI-FIDELITY CYCLING. So you can understand why Raleigh felt its other brands should also have some snazzy ‘hip-talk’ to help sell its bikes to teenagers …though it’s debatable whether advertising company executives actually consulted any young people about whether they were inspired to buy a Triumph when it was described as ‘The Gay Bike for Jeanagers.’

When the previous owner rebuilt the engine and repainted the bicycle, he did not refit the chainguard. The chainguard (unpainted, and with its original TRIUMPH logo intact) is included in the sale, along with a few engine spares and some of the paint he used, in case you need to touch it up).
