1913 Meredith Bastide ‘Stayer’ (Pace following bicycle)

23.5″ (59cm) Frame

Front wheel 24″. Rear wheel 26″ (Wooden Constrictors with tubular tyres)

Brooks Champion B17 saddle

This Bastide Stayer was reputed to have been owned by Leon Meredith, who raced similar machines. He brought Bastides to Britain, where he sold them until interrupted by the war. After the war, its design was copied by British frame builders.
